This workshop will take you through a step-by-step approach to selecting the most
effective strategy to implement to improve your performance on the Perkins nontraditional
core indicator. You will learn to
- conduct a performance gap analysis using your Perkins data and identifying other
data sources where data can inform your fact finding
- identify the root causes for low participation and completion rates of students
in CTE programs nontraditional for their gender
- select strategies, models and best practices that will increase your schools performance
on the Perkins nontraditional indicator
The Five Step Process is a research-based data driven decision making process that
can be used in a multitude of educational settings. This training is focused on
its use to assist educators increase the participation and completion of women and
girls in STEM related career cluster programs of study.
If you have participated in a STEM Equity Pipeline Five Step Program Improvement
Process training this will be a great refresher. New resources will be shared and
individual technical assistance available.
Conducted by Mimi Lufkin, CEO of the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity
Education Foundation and a national expert on the implementation of the Perkins
provisions for nontraditional career and technical education.
